My inspiration to create the hourglass design was my favorite subject, math. For me the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about math is triangles, and I
decided to incorporate it into my quilt. When I look at my quilt square the small triangles inside the larger triangle it feels chaotic and makes my mind want to wander. If I am
looking at the looking at the blue squares, my mind feels more at peace for some reason.

I learned that there is more to art than the traditional brush and paint. Seeing some of the amazing quilts changed my view on art, since it can be a form of expression capturing what words cannot explain. I also learned how quilts have played a part in history and helped many through difficult times and bring the community together. This quilt making process is fun, and it demonstrates that when a community comes together wonderful things can happen.
